Soul of a Whore

Just wanted to let everyone know that this weekend the Chicago Premiere of Denis Johnson's (author of the novel Jesus' Son) newest play, Soul Of A Whore, opens this weekend.

Here is a brief description of the play:

Set in our country's execution capital of Huntsville, Texas, this divine tragicomedy follows the travails of a jailbird TV preacher with a burdensome supernatural gift as he struggles with a demonic nemesis, and absentee boss, and his fragile flock consisting of his deranged ex-cellmate, a possessed stripper, and a needy Biker-for-Jesus with a mother on Death Row.

Paul Dillon (best know as Angelo/Cracker Jack from the TV show The Pretender) stars as The Reverend William Jennings Bryan Jenks.

This is the second of Denis Johnson's plays I have worked on. He is an amazing writer with a true gift for story telling. I have been working as the stage manager/bunch of other stuff for this show.

Peace
