At it Again

Cliff and Tripp are at it again. This time each has allies.

This concerns me.

As I have mentioned in past blogs, My heart breaks. I know no offence is intended, but the battle that is happening is defeating what is going on at the whole core of the conversation. All sides agree that Christ is the center of the church. Good. That is what is important. That is IT. This all started because Megan (who I gather is seeking) had a question. And now a damned battle is going on, and proving exactly what I see her problem with the church to be.

We are people of Christ, are we not? Followers. Disciples. Children. ALL of us. Huh? I love all parties involved in this, and I do not want to pick sides, because I should not have to...and I won't. It is stupid. How in the world can we witness the Love of Christ when we are fickin bickering like a bunch of babies? Mine is better that yours is. Plah!

Piss on that.

All of us have a responsibilty, as Christians, to follow Christ. Maybe that is different to different folks...GOOD. We have gifts, all of us, and those are from God. Let's use them.

Cliff, your intellect is amazing. You will certainly connect and spread God's love with other. Tripp, your vunerability and honesty is what makes you special--youare able to connect with those who have been tossed to the way side. Mae, your sense of compassion and joy are able bring much needed joy to the kids you work with. Sherry, your sense of justice rights the wrongs. Leo, you have insights into urban life that most of us can not touch.

That is the Church in my opinion. Right there. All of us, using what we have to bring God's love to the world.

Peace

A Good Man

Today is also the 5th anniversary of my Dad's passing.

I have written about him before, so I won't say much. I can't do him justice.

Love you Dad.

How many Christians does it take to change a light bulb?

Charismatic: Only one. Hands already in the air.
Pentecostal: Ten. One to change the bulb, and nine to pray against the spirit of darkness.
Presbyterian: None. Lights will go on and off at predestined times.
Catholic: None. Candles only.
Baptist: At least 15. One to change the light bulb, and three committees to approve the change and decide who brings the potato salad.
Episcopalian: Three. One to call the electrician, one to mix the drinks, and one to talk about how much better the old bulb was.
Mormon: Five. One man to change the bulb and four wives to tell him how to do it.
Methodist: Undetermined. Whether your light is bright, dull, or completely burned out, you are loved. You can be a light bulb, turnip bulb, or tulip bulb. Church-wide lighting service is planned for Sunday. Bring the bulb of your choice and a covered red dish.
Nazarene: Six. One woman to replace the bulb while five men review church lighting policy.
Lutheran: None. Lutherans don't believe in change.
Church of Christ: They do not use light bulbs because there is no evidence of their use in the New Testament.
Unitarian: We choose not to make a statement either in favor of or against the need for a light bulb. However, if in your own journey you have found that light bulbs work for you, that is fine. You are invited to write a poem or compose a modern dance about your bulb for next Sunday's service, during which we will explore a number of light bulb traditions, including incandescent, fluorescent, three-way, long-life, and tinted, all of which are equally valid paths to luminescence.
Amish: What's a light bulb?

Nothing new.

My Jaw hurts...tense. I don't know why. Urf.

So, I got an email from a co-worker. The sent me the auto-response from a member. It says the following:

IF you don't vote conservative;
IF you don't pay enough taxes;
Send the balance to me, & I'll
attempt to help you feel better.

Iraq Gov. change in 2003

Failed Experiment

In a blatant attempt to attract more hits I mentioned that Trish's show had nudity in it. It did not work.

Being a wrestling fan, and knowing that one of the cutest diva's in WWE is named Trish Stratus (check out that site...cool little anime pictures of her), I would have though that little teenage boys would be hitting google trying to see what comes up when they type Trish WWE naked.

(let's see if that works...I am evil)

Say Nope to Dope

Here is this week's Dumbass:

Man severs, cooks, and eats his penis.

All Star Fever

I never thought I would say this, but you can feel something downtown today. And, no, it isn't the tourists bumping into you. There is just something about the atmosphere. Today is the All Star Game. Every other person I see down here is wearing a baseball jersey or cap...even me. I am wearing my beloved Cardinals cap today.

People are grinning and happy.

I love baseball. I don't know all the stats of who is the best in the league for this or that. What I love about baseball is one of those intangibles. Not sure what it is, but there is some thing about going to a baseball that makes it special. Sons and Dads. Daughters and Moms. Kids and Grandkids. Going to see the Springfield Cardinals play was an almost weekly occurrence. We all went. Mom, Dad, Josh, Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Paul and Aunt Marilyn (when they were in town), and I all would go. Baseball games were at time for the family to get together and just hang out. All the problems we might of had did not matter the Lanphier park. Maybe monthly we would take a trip down to St. Louis to see the Cards play. We would try to a ball game when we went of vacation. We were at the game where Joe Niekro got busted with an emory board (Twins vs. Angels)

Baseball is a family game and truly America's Pastime.

Play ball.

Once and for all!!

We will find out the correct spelling:

Theatre
vs.
Theater

Let googlefight be the Don King of this bout!!!!

And the Winner is:
THEATRE...by 100,000

Final score is

Theatre (10,500,000 results)
Theater (10,400,000 results)

Thanks Cliff.

What the Hell

Since I just saw Pirates of the Carribean (which was absolutely awesome) I figured What the Hell:

You Are Sam From "Benny & Joon."

You are very talented at physical comedy. People are in awe of your abilities. However, you have many quirks which can either win people over or completely annoy them. But you're a sweetheart through and through, and it's hard not to love you.

Take The Johnny Depp Quiz!

They're Back

Garbage Pail Kids are returning after a 15 year sabbatical.

Has it really been that long?

So

Tripp mentioned that Trish's new show has nudity in it. This is always an interesting subject. When we were going to do The Tooth of Crime I was running in to the same issue. Becky, one of the characters, has a scene in which she basically rapes herself. It was difficult to try to see how how to take it.

Anywho. This past weekend, Ziggy got married. Mae and I went up to Grayslake for the wedding. It was really pretty, and outdoor ceremony and reception. Lots of fun.

I guess that is all for now.

Peace
all

Here we go.

Here is the promised link to my new computer.

Also, since I had to reload the comments, because the old YACCS did not work with the new blogger, I changed the template. Tell me what you think

Peace

Open my eyes

I know sometimes I am a loud obnoxious fool
Somtimes I sit in the muck I have created
And expect everyone else to sit in it with me

I hurt people
I say things
I usually am too dumb to realize that I have done so

My tears are tears of self-loathing
My tears are those of an ass
My tears are meaningless

I think I care only to pass them
I see their tears only to ignore them
I want help but I can't

Make me weak
Break me down
Open my eyes
Let me hear
Tear my skin

I am a sinner and I ask for forgiveness
I am arragont and I ask for humility
I am hurtful, make me caring

Spirit fill me. Creator forgive me. Christ heal me.

Jane Ellen has written a wonderful sermon. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Field of Dreams

Mae, her roommates (Kyle, John and Kris), and I all went to the Chicago White Sox v. Minnesota Twins game last night. We had a good time...well Kyle and I did, as the Sox beat Mae's beloved Twins (8-6). It was a really fun game. The Sox manager was ejected not 10 minutes into the first inning, and it just kept rolling from there. Ending with a Frank Thomas home at the bottom of the 12th inning. The count was 3-2 with 2 outs. Score 6-6 and THWACK...HOME RUN...SOX WIN. It was an ending to a baseball game that makes the almost 4 hours totally worth it. It was something that does not happen very often. And it is something I will remember for a long time.

Google Search

Please do this. It is extremely funny. Thanks Google.

OK. Go to Google.com. Type Weapons of Mass Destruction into the search box. The click the I'm Feeling Lucky button. An error message will pop up. Read the message.

Naughty Bird

Go here. You need your speakers on. Very funny stuff. Tripp, you will like this stuff. Nothing like a pigeon tanting a cat.
